Ok ladies and gents I just have to share my amazing new years eve experience. My boyfriend and I went on a blind date, LITERALLY! What I mean is that we were both blindfolded during our entire full course meal! I used Vimbly which is a website that allows you to explore and book fun activities like cooking classes, wine tastings, tours, amazing dinner dates, you name it! Vimbly has activities for every occasion. This website saves you the time and effort from researching creative plans when your trying to impress your significant other. My boyfriend and I ended up trying Dinners in the Dark on new years eve.
We arrived at Camaje, cute restaurant in Greenwhich village, and the host/server immediately blindfolded us before we even entered the room! We were told that not seeing the environment would allow us to really embrace all of our senses, and boy was he right! It was quite an exceptional experience. With the rest of the attendees we formed a single file line, and with one hand on the right shoulder of the person in front of us we took baby steps all the way to our seats, with the help of our servers (who were not blindfolded… TG).
Blindfolded, my senses were extremely heightened and I was able to experience a feeling like never before. While listening to live classical music we enjoyed being served several delicious plates and constant wine refills.
I loved my experience at Camaje, they served us several different types of wine throughout our meal, were very flexible with my dietary restrictions and preferences, and the staff was very friendly and outgoing. Did I mention the food was amazing? It’s really just a win win all around. I definitely recommend trying out this awesome experience next time your up for something adventurous.
