Okay ladies and gents let’s talk about business casual outfits for women in the work place. Sometimes it’s a struggle to pick what to wear to work, especially if you’re in a business casual setting. I for one work in corporate America, the corporate fashion industry to be exact. That mean’s there’s flexibility in the work place with dress code. Before taking my suggestions, make sure jeans are an okay option for the work place. Lucky for me they are!
Jeans are one of my favorite things to wear. They are comfortable, and you can dress them up or down! Finding the right pair of jeans is a task in and of itself. But once you finally narrow down your perfect fit that makes getting dressed a whole lot easier.
After 27 years I finally realized that high-waisted cropped jeans are my perfect fit. Now a days brands and retailers don’t just offer one-size fit’s all so you don’t have to simply buy what’s out there and be forced to tailor it at home. There is a wide array of denim fits, so take the time to investigate fit and then google search your way to finding them! The stores that make it easy to find your fit are the best ones to go back to like Madewell, Zara, Bloomindales, Nordstrom, etc.!
Anyhow, back to business casual! The perfect recipe for a business casual outfit is a basic solid turtleneck, preferably white or black, simple non-distressed jeans, and a fun blazer. I would opt for a plaid, or pinstripe to keep is office wear. Pair it back to comfortable shoes no higher than 3.5″ in heel height and you’re golden!
It’s the small things that make a huge different. If you’re heel height is 4″ you risk being uncomfortable walking from meeting to meeting, if you have distressed jeans you might not be allowed to wear them to work. So buy yourself a clean pair of jeans you can rock to work and you’ll be sure to get use out of them elsewhere too!
It’s funny when you realize that you have a million pairs of jeans in your closet but they all have holes in them. So do yourself a favor and buy that basic pair!
With these business causal outfits you can interchange pieces, like the turtleneck or blazer. Sometimes I wear the same jeans over and over again in a week, even the solid turtleneck if it’s not dirty!
Don’t be afraid to make this look a weekly staple. It’s ok to re-wear the same outfit. Make it your work uniform! Heck I’m pretty sure Men alternate suits all week. So do yourself a favor and start to create a work uniform for yourself. Go back to basics, keep it simple and classic. There’s always room for creativity in your shoes and accessories if you want to mix it up.
Hope you enjoyed my bit about business casual outfits for women! I hope you find a way to incorporate it in your daily life! Getting dressed can be stressful, and trust me knowing what to wear will save you time and stress!
