New York City has so many amazing restaurants but sometimes you just crave Italian. That’s why I’m sharing with you must try Italian restaurants in New York! Italian also seems to be a popular choice for date night. Maybe it has something to do with the spaghetti scene in Lady and the Tramp but I’ve always secretly wanted to replicate that moment.
There’s something comforting about homemade pasta and pizza is just too delicious to resist. I recently went to Aunt Jakes, which is located in the heart of Little Italy. You can’t get more Italian than that! The standard is pretty high there as Aunt Jake’s Restaurant makes pasta fresh daily keeping the tradition alive.
One of my favorite parts about Aunt Jakes was the option to create your own pasta! The freedom of choice ladies and gentlemen is few and far between but not at Aunt Jakes! Don’t worry you won’t get analysis paralysis they make ordering pretty simple! You pick your pasta shape and preferred sauce and you’re all set! If you still need help? Check out their Instagram for some food inspo and just ask for that! That’s usually what I resort to these days anyway.
Here’s a great plus about Aunt Jakes, they also have delicious fresh juices! If you don’t already know I’m pretty into being healthy. AKA juices are up my alley! And last and not least they offer bespoke cocktails. Just name the spirit and flavor and they’ll whip something up to your tasting. If that doesn’t sound like an experience then I don’t know what does! I decided to wear my hair extensions and plaid pants to this restaurant, but I’d say the dress attire is smart casual because why not look fresh while you eat some fresh pasta!
See below for my recommendations for 10 must try Italian restaurants in New York City. I’m giving you some ammunition for when you’re trying to impress a date. Not sure how many dates you’re going on, but try to mix things up every once in a while. Or you know what? You could even go alone and read a book! Why not?!
